Spring is in the air!

February and March have flown by! I started a new job and have been training full time. I am amazed how there is never enough time.......and I thought that was the case before! Banks has spent time with both Gran and KK and has a new babysitter Rachelle who has been a great fit for us. Thankfully our friends allowed us to share her with them, so Banks and Emma Grace get to play and work on some sharing! They've been to the zoo and to storytime at the library; needless to say, Banks has not skipped a beat with me gone. Here are some pictures and an update!

Words: bye-bye, more, "nana" (banana), ball, Dada, Mama, uh-oh

Most frequent word: "more" (with the sign!) He has finally learned more can be used with other things besides food!

Signs: more and please

Recent obsessions:

1.Going outside. He is like a man possessed. This is the first time we've had warm weather since Banks started walking. He wants to go outside all the time and stands at our french doors and knocks (and cries)........ and occasionally opens the door if we've left it unlocked by accident.

2. Dogs: He will drop everything at the park if there is a dog. He walks straight up to them (no matter how big or small) and holds out his hand to be licked.

Hobbies: going to the park especially playing in the sand pit, taking a shower and playing with the hand-held sprayer, playing in a box (go to the blog so you can see the slideshow below), trying on shoes, riding in his blue car

New tricks: Drinking with a straw, saying bye-bye and waving, saying cheese when you get out the camera, bouncing his head to the music (not quite on the beat yet!)

Favorite book: Tuga-Tuga-Tugboat

Dislikes: Having his face wiped (still), having his teeth brushed

Signs we're headed towards toddlerhood: Hair pulling (Sorry, Emma Grace!)

Fun with a box!

Snow!

The forcasters were finally right....it snowed! We made it out with Banks once just so he could walk around in the snow. He resembled the kid from "A Christmas Story" who could barely move his arms! Suprisingly, Banks seemed to like the snow even after two face plants. We are going to get a sled so we are ready for next time.

We are also learning the lessons of living on a hill when it snows.....it hasn't been as easy getting out as we thought! Brent spent 3 hours Sunday clearing out our driveway!

We had to lay Banks on the dining room table just to get him suited up.

15 months and growing....

Dressed for the cold on the way to play at the park.

"It looks fun out there"

"Yeah, I think I'll just open the door and go out for a stroll."

"Why did they have to put these things up?"

Latest stats:

Weight: 27lbs 10 oz (85%)
Height: 32 in (75%)
Head circumference: 18 7/8 in (80%)

Walks 100% of the time.

Has 8 teeth.

Jabbers nonstop as if you can understand him.

Loves to play with stacking bowls, tupperware, flashlights, cell phones or anything electronic.

Pulls out any drawer that does not have a child lock on it and goes through it! Although he unloads them all, his favorite is to carry around a bag of Pike decaf coffee and a plastic container of Splenda.

New tricks: He will go get a book if you ask him to. He can open our side door to the driveway by pulling down on the lever and will walk outside. He does this all by himself! (see pics above).

Favorite word: "nana" (aka banana)

Hobbies: eating, going to the park (will go down the slide face first!), grocery shopping or going to Costco (especially tasting the samples), splashing in the water in the potty (this has been a difficult habit to break, so all our bathroom doors stay shut!)

Dislikes: having his face wiped, baby gates that keep him off the steps, wearing a winter coat
